Join Ron Beatson and Kerry Templeton of Plant and Food Research to talk about hops. Ron & Kerry will run a sensory session with hops that are undergoing evaluation. There will be tasting of beer, which has been brewed specially for hop evaluation in the Plant & Food Research pilot brewery! The comparisons use the same wort, but 2 or 3 different & promising hop selections as different dry hop additions. Ron and Kerry will have beers, as well as freshly harvested hops for you to get up close and personal with. They have developed an App for iPhones, so participants can fill out sensory information directly and have it become part of Plant & Food Research’s hop evaluation data. Never before have home-brewers had such an opportunity to shape the development of some new Kiwi hops!
